Mouse infestations are dangerous. Mice eat human food and their feces, saliva, and urine can contain viruses and bacteria. If you notice any signs of a mouse infestation, call an expert. The pros at Raven Termite and Pest Control are ready when you need rodent or pest control services in Finksburg or anywhere in Carroll County.
Signs of Rodents in the Attic
Do you hear sounds emitting from the walls or basement? Mice are nocturnal creatures, preferring to stay hidden during the day and search for food from dusk till dawn. Some signs of mouse activity include droppings, scratching noises, grease marks, nests, and tracks or footprints. Mice excrete plenty of droppings each night, so look for them inside cupboards and along floorboards. They will be scattered about randomly.
Do you notice any dark smears on walls? Mice rubbing their bodies against walls leave grease marks. Check lofts, cavity walls, and under fridges and stoves for nests. Mice use soft materials to make nests in these types of places. Finally, if your loft or basement is dusty, you’ll be able to see rodent tracks and tail marks.
Diseases directly transmitted from mice include Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, Lassa Fever, Plague, Salmonellosis, and Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis. Almost all of these diseases can be transmitted by inhaling dust that is contaminated with rodent urine or droppings. Salmonellosis is transmitted by eating or drinking food or water that’s contaminated by rat feces. When you suspect mice in your attic, Raven Termite and Pest Control helps you get rid of the problem.
