House crickets are yellowish-brown, have six legs, antennae, and wings. Drawn to moist environments, they enter homes and basements. A common sign of an infestation is hearing the song created by the male crickets when they rub their front legs together to attract females. Since they’re nocturnal, you’ll hear these noises at night. Other signs of a cricket infestation include chewed fabrics and finding the insects inside. If you notice any of these signals and you need pest control in Dundalk, discover Raven Termite and Pest Control. Our pros rid homes and businesses of insects, spiders, rodents and more.
Problems Associated with Crickets
While cricket sounds may be enjoyable on a peaceful night while you’re sitting outside, it’s far less enjoyable when the sound is coming from somewhere in your home. Additionally, say goodbye to those lovely curtains because crickets are known to damage carpet, clothing, and all sorts of fabric. They attack wool, cotton, silk, and more.
House crickets enter your home looking for water, food, and shelter. If you limit these resources, they’ll be out of there to search for a better place to live. Fix leaky pipes and fixtures around your home, eliminate crumbs, and never leave food uncovered. Finally, make sure your gutters aren’t damaged or clogged. You should also make sure there are no holes in your screen doors or around your foundation as these critters will enter there and land straight into your home. The best solution when you have an infestation is to call professional pest control in Dundalk. Raven Termite and Pest Control will ensure that these pests remain outside of your home.
